About
Illuminator is a 50 g peel-off cream pack built around cysteamine, a pigment-regulating active positioned by the manufacturer as an alternative to hydroquinone. Applied in a thin layer, it forms a clear occlusive film in twenty to thirty minutes that is peeled away, leaving the essence on the skin. In the clinic it is the third step of the GD Tone-Up protocol; at home it continues the work between sessions. Formerly sold as GD Tone-Up Home Care.

How to use

Cleanse
Cleanse; toner is optional.

Apply a thin layer
About 3 g over the face or the target area, avoiding eyes and lips. Do not touch or rub it once applied.
- 03
Wait for the film
20–30 minutes until a clear film has formed.
- 04
Peel and pat
Peel the film off gently and pat the remaining essence in. Do not wash off.
- 05
Routine
Manufacturer's standard routine: daily for the first three months, then every two to three days. Sensitive skin starts at every third day and builds up. If it stings on first use, start at 10 minutes and increase to 20.

- Cysteamine
- According to the manufacturer, cysteamine inhibits tyrosinase activation and melanin synthesis and shifts pigment production toward the lighter pheomelanin. It is presented as a hydroquinone alternative.
- The peel-off film
- The occlusive film stops the essence from evaporating while it works, then lifts away cleanly. There is nothing to wash off.
- With GD Tone-Up
- In the clinic Illuminator follows the laser pass; at home it maintains the result and, according to the manufacturer, helps guard against pigment returning between sessions.
