About
GD Tone-Up is a single-use solution of micro-sized black diamond and gold cage particles with tranexamic acid, niacinamide and arbutin, applied before laser toning. Under the 1064 nm beam the diamond is ejected from the skin surface for a gentle micro-dermabrasion, the gold cage converts light to localised heat for collagen remodelling, and the actives work on pigmentation — three effects in the pass the clinic already performs.

How to use
GD Tone-Up in the treatment room, step by step.
- 01
Cleanse and protect
Cleanse thoroughly. Gauze and goggles over the eyes — the solution must not reach them.
- 02
Apply
Pour one single-use unit into a bowl, mix with a brush and spread over the whole face. Avoid tattooed eyebrows and hairy areas.

Dry
Let the layer dry for 2–4 minutes; press with gauze to check it no longer transfers.
- 04
Laser toning
Manufacturer's standard setting: Q-switched Nd:YAG 1–1.3 J/cm², 8 mm, 10 Hz; picosecond Nd:YAG 0.6–0.65 J/cm², 8 mm, 10 Hz. Skin types IV–V at 1 J/cm². About 4,000 shots in total, the last few hundred to clear residual diamond. Use a smoke evacuator.

Wipe
Remove the remaining solution and gold with cold gauze.
- 06
Illuminator
Apply Simfle Stick Illuminator as the third step, and send it home with the patient to continue between sessions.

Course
Every two weeks, five to ten sessions; every three weeks for sensitive skin, never more than four weeks apart.

- Micro-dermabrasion by black diamond
- The diamond particles (about 5 µm, manufacturer) absorb the laser energy and are ejected — not shattered as carbon is — taking surrounding keratin with them. No dust, no explosion, and the skin is left smoother rather than rougher.
- Collagen remodelling by gold cage
- The cage-shaped gold particle (about 5 µm, manufacturer) is designed to convert 1064 nm light into a controlled, localised heat that supports collagen remodelling in the dermis.
- Brightening actives
- Tranexamic acid, niacinamide and arbutin are carried in the same solution, so the toning pass and the actives work on pigmentation together.
- Lasers
- Q-switched or picosecond 1064 nm Nd:YAG. A 1064 nm long-pulsed laser in fractional 100 µs mode is also described by the manufacturer, at 10 J/cm² with a 9 mm spot.

Cautions
- Allergy to metal or gold; allergy to alcohol
- Not on tattooed eyebrows or hairy areas
- Laser contraindications apply: active infection, keloid tendency, active eczema/psoriasis/dermatitis, photosensitising medication, recent sun or tanning
- Wait 2–4 weeks after another laser treatment or peel
- Use a smoke evacuator during the laser pass
